CHARLESTON, SC - The Intimidators offense disappeared again on Monday night at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park, as Manny Banuelos and a pair of relievers limited Kannapolis to four hits in a 6-1 RiverDogs win.

Banuelos (8-4) was the star, giving up just one run on four hits in 5 2/3 innings. The 18-year-old southpaw was removed from the game when he was struck in the legs by a grounder off the bat of Kyle Shelton.

While Banuelos was dominating, Nevin Griffith was not coping well with the Charleston offensive attack. Griffith (0-2) allowed all six runs, five earned, on 11 hits in just four innings. He faced six batters in the fifth inning, all who reached, before he was pulled in favor of Charlis Burdie.

Burdie and Leroy Hunt did not surrender a hit the rest of the way, but the damage had been done.

Abraham Almonte had the big blow against Griffith, slugging a three-run home run in the decisive fifth inning to put the game out of reach. It was his second home run of the season.

Neither manager was around to see much of the ballgame. Home plate umpire Bryan Dormaier tossed Charleston's Torre Tyson for arguing a balk in the top of the first, while Dormaier gave Ernie Young the boot in the top of the third for arguing a call at home plate.
