Beloit Sky Carp News Release
Snappers starter Liam Hendriks had a stellar performance for his first Snapper outing at Pohlman Field, as the Snappers dropped to the South Bend Silver Hawks 6-5.
Hendriks went 5 2/3 innings as he struck out five hitters and only gave up one earned run, while only giving up one free pass.
Right fielder Angel Morales had a big night as he went 2-for-4 while scoring three runs with an RBI.
The Snappers jumped out to an early 4-1 lead as the Snappers posted a pair in the second frame when Morales doubled home Drew Thompson who had reached previously. Morales would trot home as James Beresford singled to left giving the Snappers the 2-1 lead.
The Snappers would score once in the third and four to extend the lead, but a big inning in the fifth by the Silver Hawks was enough for the victory.
The Snappers and Silver Hawks will finish up their three game-set Friday night at 7:00pm. Fans can enjoy post game fireworks after the ball game.
