
Beliot Falls to Cedar Rapids

Starting pitcher Will Smith of the Cedar Rapids Kernels and reliever Matt Shoemaker combined for a two-hitter Thursday night at Pohlman Field with a 5-1 win over the Snappers.
Shortstop James Beresford went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI as Nate Hanson collected the other base knock for the Snappers.
Snappers' starting pitcher Daniel Osterbrock had a stellar outing as he went five innings with five strike outs. Curtis Leavitt and Matt Williams both pitched two innings apiece with both relievers scattering out two hits combined.
The Snappers will finish up the four game series with the Kernels Friday night as right hander Bobby Lanigan (7-4) takes the mound, Lanigan will face Kernels lefty Manuel Flores (4-9). Gates open at 6:00pm with the first pitch schedule for 7:00pm. Following the game fans and enjoy a pre 4th of July fireworks show.
