Sporting Kansas City News Release

(June 26, 2009) - The Kansas City Wizards host Mexican team Santos Laguna Sunday in the final group-phase match of SuperLiga 2009, the tournament that brings the USA-Mexico soccer rivalry to the club level. Sunday's match kicks off at 5:30 p.m. CT at CommunityAmerica Ballpark (CAB). Santos Laguna arrives in Kansas City Friday and will train in town on both Friday and Saturday.

Friday, Santos will train at the Kansas City Wizards Swope Park Training Center at 6 p.m. CT. Saturday, Santos will train at CAB at 10 a.m. CT. Both training sessions are open to the media, and an interpreter will be on hand.

A limited number of tickets remain for Sunday's match. Tickets are available through this link or by calling Ticketmaster at 1-800-745-3000. The Wizards are offering a special two-game pack that includes:

- One (1) ticket to the match against Santos Laguna

- One (1) ticket to the match Aug. 16 against former Santos player Cuauhtémoc Blanco and the Chicago Fire

- One (1) limited-edition T-shirt.

Two-game packages start at $30 and are available in all seating categories. Call the Wizards at (913) 387-3400 for more information.

A Wizards win Sunday over Santos will secure Kansas City's passage to the SuperLiga semifinals. The Wizards could advance with a draw Sunday if the Revolution wins its contest against FC Atlas of Mexico. If both games Sunday are draws, the advancing team between Kansas City and Atlas will be decided by total goals scored. Entering play Sunday, Kansas City has scored one goal in the tournament, while Atlas has not scored.
