June 6, 2009 - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announce that INF Chris Fox will join the Kernels from extended Spring Training. Abe Flores, Director of Player Development for the LA Angels, announced the move on Saturday.

The Angels signed Fox, 23, as a non-drafted free agent on June 11, 2008, out of the University of California - Santa Barbara. He spent 2008 with the AZL Angels and posted a .346 BA with five doubles, three triples and nine RBI in 17 games.

Fox will be in Cedar Rapids and available for tonight's 6:35 pm game with the Burlington Bees. With today's transaction, the Kernels roster is at the MWL maximum of 25 active players, with two players currently on the DL.

The Kernels open a four game series with the Burlington Bees on Saturday, June 6th with game time scheduled for 6:35 pm.
