Lexington Legends News Release

Brian Pellegrini's two-out, two-run double in the fifth inning provided all the scoring for the Lexington Legends as they won their second straight game from the Savannah Sand Gnats, 2-1 at Grayson Stadium.

With one out in the fifth, Jay Austin singled and Michael Diaz walked. Ebert Rosario hit a ball off the left field fence, but Diaz was forced at second, leaving runners at first and third.

Pellegrini's line drive to left field scored Austin and Rosario to give Lexington a 2-0 lead.

Brad Dydalewicz (3-0), making his second start since returning from the disabled list, pitched five innings to get the win. He allowed no runs and only one hit, a single by Wilmer Flores in the fifth.

Savannah scored its only run in the seventh. With Arcenio Leon pitching in relief, Eric Campbell led off with a single and stole second. One out later, Wilmer Flores singled, moving Campbell to third. After Michael Hacker relieved Leon, Campbell scored on a wild pitch. Rafael Fernandez walked to put runners at first and second, but Hacker got out of the inning when Kai Gronauer grounded to third, where Rosario stepped on the bag for a force and threw to first to complete the double play.

Patrick Urckfitz worked a perfect ninth for his second save in two games and his fourth of the year. Savannah starter Elvin Ramirez (2-3) was the losing pitcher.

Lexington and Savannah will meet in the third game of the four-game series Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at Grayson Stadium.
