
Greenville out hits Rome

Rome, GA -The Greenville Drive defeated the Rome Braves 5-1 Monday afternoon in front of 2,299 fans at State Mutual Stadium. It was Rome's third consecutive loss.
Greenville took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on an RBI single by Michael Almanzar. In the third, the Drive added a run on an RBI single by Tim Federowicz to make it a 2-0 game. Two insurance runs were added by Greenville in the eighth on a two run homer by Kade Keowen to give them the 4-0 advantage. In the bottom of the inning, the Braves scored their only run of the game on an RBI single by Shayne Moody. The Drive scored one run in the ninth on an RBI double by Ryan Dent for the 5-1 final.
Casey Kelly (6-1) was the winning pitcher for the Drive, while Zeke Spruill (6-2) got the loss for the Braves.
