Charleston scored five runs in the fifth inning with the help of three Lexington errors, and the RiverDogs went on to beat the Legends 7-2 at Applebee's Park Thursday night.

The RiverDogs took the lead in the top of the first inning. Dan Brewer singled, was sacrificed to second and went to third as David Adams reached on an error by shortstop Jorge De Leon. Brewer came home on a double to right field by Taylor Grote.

Charleston broke the game open with five runs in the fifth, when the Legends committed three of their five errors. Mitch Abeita reached on a throwing error by third baseman Ebert Rosario. Ray Kruml and Brewer singled to load the bases. A second error by Rosario allowed Abeita and Kruml to score to make it 3-0. David Adams then walked to load the bases again. After Patrick Urckfitz relieved Lexington starter Ross Seaton, Taylor Grote delivered a sacrifice fly to score Kruml. Angelini scored when center fielder Jay Austin dropped a fly ball off the bat of Corban Joseph, and Adams came home on a sacrifice fly by Abraham Almonte to give the RiverDogs a 6-0 lead.

Phil Disher hit his fourth home run of the year for Lexington in the bottom of the fifth to make it 6-1. Angelini hit a solo homer for Charleston in the seventh, and the Legends added a run in the ninth to leave the final score at 7-2.

David Phelps (3-1) got the win. He pitched seven innings, allowed six hits, including the Disher homer. He struck out eight, and did not walk a batter. Seaton (4-3) was the losing pitcher, though he gave up only one earned run.

The Legends remain at home to play the Savannah Sand Gnats in a four-game series. The opener is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Friday.
