Minnesota Wild Recalls RW Danny Irmen from Houston Aeros

SAINT PAUL, Minn. - Minnesota Wild President and General Manager Doug Risebrough today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled right wing Danny Irmen from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Irmen, 24 (9/6/84), has eight points (4-4=8) and 25 penalty minutes in 45 games for the Aeros this season. In three-plus seasons in Houston, the 6-foot, 190-pound native of Fargo, N.D., has 70 points (31-39=70) and 121 penalty minutes. Since joining the Aeros after the 2005-06 college season Irmen has only missed three games, skating in the final four regular season games of 2005-06, all 80 in 2006-07, 77 in 2007-08 and all 45 to this point of the 2008-09 season plus a total of 12 playoff contests.

Irmen was Minnesota's third-round pick (No. 78 overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. Irmen played college hockey at the University of Minnesota. Irmen, who has not appeared in an NHL game, will wear sweater No. 14 with the Wild.

The Aeros will host the Peoria Rivermen this Friday and Saturday at 7:35 p.m. for their first visit to Houston this season. The first two contests, played in Peoria, were both decided in shootouts with each team winning one.
