WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 21 - PHANTOMS at BINGHAMTON SENATORS - 7:05, Broome County VMA
The Phantoms and the Senators get together for a game that has big-time implications in the East Division standings. Although the Senators have three games in hand, the two clubs start this week tied for fourth place in the East Division. Philadelphia has won three of the four meetings between the teams thus far, but two of them have come in overtime. Ryan Shannon leads the Senators with 31 points and Denis Hamel is on top in the goals category with 14. Top goaltender Brian Elliott, who was named to represent the Senators at the 2009 AHL All-Star Classic, is tied for second in the league with 18 wins but is currently on recall to Ottawa. Phantoms forward Rob Siranni appeared in six games for Binghamton this season and actually scored a penalty shot goal against the Phantoms in one of them.
FRIDAY, JANUARY 23 - PHANTOMS VS. MANCHESTER MONARCHS - 7:05, WACHOVIA SPECTRUM
The Phantoms host the Manchester Monarchs (Los Angeles Kings) in their only visit of the season to Philadelphia and the first of two televised Phantoms games this season. Manchester is 18-19-0-5 for 41 points, which slots them sixth in the Atlantic Division but only 10 points out of first place in the tightly-contested bracket. The Phantoms picked up a 3-2 shootout win in Manchester back in November. Reigning AHL Rookie of the Year Teddy Purcell returned to the Monarchs from Los Angeles on Sunday. He'd been with the Kings since December 10 and posted seven points in 17 games. Captain Marty Murray, a former Phantom and Flyer, is tied for second on the team in scoring with 28 points. Murray posted 15 points in 11 games for the Phantoms back in 2006-07.
SATURDAY, JANUARY 24 - PHANTOMS VS. LAKE ERIE MONSTERS - 7:05, WACHOVIA SPECTRUM
The Phantoms will be looking for their first win over the Lake Erie Monsters (Colorado Avalanche) when they make their only visit of the season to the Spectrum on Saturday night. Philadelphia was shut out 3-0 by goaltender Ty Weiman and the Monsters back on January 11. The Phantoms have not beaten the Monsters in three meetings since Lake Erie joined the league last season. Leading scorer Chris Durno was recalled to Colorado on Sunday, making it five of Lake Erie's top ten scorers that are currently with the Avalanche.
PHANTOMS BACK ON THE TUBE THIS FRIDAY
Friday's game against Manchester is the first of two televised Phantoms contests this season. The game will air live on Comcast SportsNet beginning at 7:00. Tim Saunders and Orest Kindrachuk return for their eighth season as the club's television broadcast team. The February 20 game against Portland will also be televised on Comcast SportsNet.
FRIDAY IS ALSO SUPERHERO NIGHT
The Phantoms will also hold their annual Super Hero night on Friday night against Manchester. Everyone's favorite super heroes will be on hand to join Phlex for the evening in activities on the ice and on the concourse. Come out and make it a super evening!
HELP CELEBRATE PHLEX'S BIRTHDAY ON SATURDAY
Phlex's annual birthday celebration will take place this Saturday when the Phantoms host the Lake Erie Monsters. Come out to the game and celebrate with everybody's favorite superhero mascot! The evening will include the crowd singing Happy Birthday to Phlex.
SPECIAL PUCK DROP SATURDAY NIGHT
The Phantoms will welcome Todd Carmichael of Philadelphia to Saturday's game to drop the first puck. An adventurer and entrepreneur as well as the husband of Flyers anthem singer Lauren Hart, Carmichael recently completed a 700-mile solo trek across Antarctica to the South Pole. Carmichael will be presented with a special Phantoms jersey.
Tickets for both games are still available! Call 1-800-298-4200 or visit Phantomshockey.com for more details.

ROSS NAMED REEBOK/AHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jared Ross was the winner of this week's Reebok/AHL Player of the Week award. Ross posted six goals and three assists for nine points in four games this week as Philadelphia broke out of a 10-game funk with four consecutive victories. Ross started his week with a hat trick as part of a four-point night in a 7-1 win over Worcester on Wednesday. He picked up a goal and an assist in Friday's 5-4 win over Lowell and scored a goal in regulation and added a shootout goal in Saturday's 4-3 shootout win over Hershey. Ross finished the week with a goal and an assist in Sunday's 3-1 comeback win over Albany. Ross has taken over the team lead in goals with 19 and is now a team-high plus-14 on the season.
NEWS AND NOTES
Philadelphia's 11-game streak of allowing at least 38 shots per game came to an end on Sunday night when the club held Albany to just 33 shots... The goal Scott Munroe allowed to Albany's Michael Ryan 9:29 into the first period on Sunday was the first goal Munroe had allowed the Rats in 129:29 minutes of play against them this season. Munroe shut out the Rats in the two previous meetings between the clubs this year... Munroe was in net for all four of Philadelphia's wins this week. With those four wins, Munroe jumps into a tie for second place in the AHL with 18 wins on the season. Munroe posted a 2.20 goals-against average and a .947 save percentage in his four wins this week. He saw 169 shots, an average of 42.25 shots per game, and stopped 160 of them - an average of 40 saves per game... Munroe had the only assist on the Jared Ross breakaway goal at Hershey on Saturday night. The two played together in college at Alabama-Huntsville, and it is the first time either could recall Munroe being credited with an assist on a goal by Ross.
