Salmon Kings Receive Duo from AHL

January 7, 2009 - ECHL (ECHL) Victoria Salmon Kings

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that goaltender Julien Ellis and forward Scott Howes have been reassigned to Victoria by the AHL's Manitoba Moose.

Ellis was recalled by Manitoba on December 16, 2008. He played in two games for the Moose compiling a 0-1-0 record with a 4.50 goals-against-average and a save percentage of .872.

Before being recalled Ellis posted a 4-1-0 record with a 1.41 goals against average, a 0.948 save percentage and one shutout.

Howes received the call from Manitoba on January 2nd. In two games with the Moose he recorded one shot.

In 12 games in Victoria this season, the rookie forward scored two goals and added seven assists while collecting eight minutes in penalties. The 21-year-old began the season in Manitoba collecting two minutes in penalties in three games.

Prior to turning professional the Toronto, ON native spent three seasons in the QJMHL. Last year with the Saint John Sea Dogs, he collected 70 points (42g-28a) in 59 games.

The Salmon Kings welcome the Pacific Division leading Ontario Reign to the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre this weekend for a two-game set. The first game goes on Friday night and the second on Saturday evening. Both games start at 7:05 p.m.
