Oakley CHL Player/Goaltender of the Week Announced

The Central Hockey League announced today that the recipients for the Oakley CHL Player and Goaltender of the Week for the period ending November 16th, 2008 are forward Michel Beausoleil of the Tulsa Oilers and goaltender Sebastien Centomo of the Laredo Bucks.

Beausoleil is in his first season with the Oilers and his eighth as a pro. Last week, the Montreal native has two goals and four assists in two games, both versus the Northwest Division leading Colorado Eagles. The veteran winger scored the game winning goal on Friday night in the Oilers 6-5 victory in Colorado. It was a part of the 5-10, 175-pound forward's five-point night (2-3=5) and it helped Tulsa become the first visiting team to win in the Budweiser Events Center this year. Beausoleil leads the Oilers with 14 points (4-10=14), two game-winning goals and is tied for tops on the club with a +3 plus/minus rating. In his CHL career, Beausoleil has played 178 games with Oklahoma City (2004-07) scoring 104 goals with 85 assists.

Centomo played in just one game last week but made the most of it stopping all 30 shots he faced in the Bucks 4-0 victory over the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs. The shutout was the first of the season for Centomo and the 17th in his professional career. The 2001-02 CHL Rookie of the Year is 6-3-0 on the season with a 2.01 goals against average (second in the league) and a .940 save percentage (first in the league). His 281 saves are tied for the league lead and his six wins are tied for second. The Laval, Quebec native has seen CHL action in past seasons with the RiverKings organization and Oklahoma City. He has also played in 95 career American Hockey League games and one National Hockey League game.

In recognition of their achievement, both Beausoleil and Centomo will receive a special gift from Oakley.
