
New York Red Bulls Sign Goalkeeper Terry Boss

SECAUCUS, NJ (September 15, 2008) - Red Bull New York announced today that it has signed goalkeeper Terry Boss to a senior contract. Per club and MLS regulations, specific terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"Terry has been training with us over the past few weeks and we were impressed with what he brings to the table," said Sporting Director Jeff Agoos. "We want take the remainder of the season to evaluate him as an option for next year."
Boss, who is the older brother of Kevin Boss, a tight end for the Super Bowl Champion New York Giants (NFL), has been capped three times by the Puerto Rican National Team. The Philomath, OR, native and former University of Tulsa product made his international debut on March 26, 2008 - earning a shutout in a 1-0 win over the Dominican Republic in a World Cup Qualifier.
Boss, 27, was most recently with the Charlotte Eagles of the United Soccer Leagues' Second Division between 2007-08. Appearing in 16 games for the Eagles, Boss was the USL-2 Goalkeeper of the Year, leading Charlotte to a USL-2 Regular Season Championship and the USL-2 Championship match, posting a 0.691 goals against average and notching nine shutouts.
In 2006, Boss made two appearances for the Puerto Rico Islanders of the USL First Division. Boss enjoyed his first stint with Charlotte in 2005, making his professional debut on May 6 against the Northern Virginia Royals.
