
Somerset Patriots Sign Pitcher Kip Bouknight

Bridgewater, NJ - The Three-Time Atlantic League Champion Somerset Patriots have announced the signing of right-handed pitcher Kip Bouknight.
Bouknight has experience in the Colorado Rockies, Toronto Blue Jays, Pittsburgh Pirates and Philadelphia Phillies organizations, including five seasons at the Triple-A level.
Bouknight has a minor league career record of 60-54 with a 4.07 ERA and 699 strikeouts in 196 games, 174 as a starter. He has pitched six complete games and pitched two complete game shutouts.
Bouknight pitched the 2007 season at the Double-A level in Altoona and had a record of 11-6 and posted a 3.83 ERA in 24 games.
Bouknight spent the early part of this season at the Double-A level with the Reading Phillies, where he started 16 games.
Bouknight has been activated for Friday night's game against the Bridgeport Bluefish at Commerce Bank Ballpark. Patriots third baseman Brandon Larson has been placed on the inactive list to take care of personal business over the next few days.
