CAMDEN, NJ - The Camden Riversharks signed two more players this week to bolster their second-half roster: infielder Shaun Boyd and righthander Jake Dittler. Both are former early round draft picks with Triple-A experience.
Boyd, 26, is a former first rounder for the St. Louis Cardinals in 2000. He pitched in their system until 2006 before debuting in the Atlantic League in 2007 with Bridgeport. After hitting .345 over 31 games, Boyd was signed by the Philadelphia Phillies and reached their Triple-A club by last year's end.
Dittler, 25, is a former second rounder for the Cleveland Indians in 2001. Primarily a starter, Dittler has accrued a 4.01 ERA over seven years in the Indians system. Dittler was 3-1 with a 5.23 ERA in seven appearances at Triple-A last season.
