Arkansas Travelers News Release
Citibank Ballpark, Midland, Texas - Arkansas Travelers infielder Hainley Statia was placed on the disabled list for the second time with a strained right hamstring, just two games after coming off the disabled list with the same injury. The Travs' bullpen also took a hit on Wednesday as LHP Daniel Davidson was sent to the Angels class-AAA Salt Lake affiliate. Infielder Wil Ortiz will rejoin the Travs on Thursday for their six-game swing into Texas.
Statia missed 21 games with a strained right hamstring in June before returning to the lineup on Monday. He reaggravated the injury running out a ground ball in the fifth inning on Tuesday. Statia will report to the Angels minor league rehab complex in Tempe, AZ.
Ortiz hit in all 3 games in his return to Rancho Cucamonga going 5-for-14 with 4 RBI, 2 doubles and a triple. In 20 games during June, Ortiz was a vital cog in the Travs' run to the first-half pennant batting .303 with 9 RBI, 7 runs scored and 4 doubles.
Davidson leaves for Salt Lake with 9 relief appearances at Arkansas under his belt. Davidson recorded no decisions and held a 2.25 ERA with 3 runs allowed in 12 innings. He had returned to active status in early June after missing 12 months because of shoulder surgery.
