York Revolution News Release

(York, Pa): As the Revolution return home tonight, York fans have rallied in numbers - big numbers. As the ball club gears up for a second-half run for the playoffs, the first half is ending with a promotional BANG that would make Cannonball Charlie jealous.

Beginning on Friday, June 27, lasting through Sunday, July 6 the pre-sale for all eight games has already surpassed 4,000 tickets. York will play eight home games in Sovereign Bank Stadium over that span, featuring multiple giveaway items, a rivalry renewed, more accolades for Revolution co-owner and Hall of Famer Brooks Robinson and a visit from a player that Oriole fans should be quite familiar with. The next eight games are literally MUST-SEE...you gotta be here!

On Friday, June 27 the Revolution will battle the Long Island Ducks at 7:07 p.m. It's scout sleepover night at the ballpark, and scouts from all over the area will be camping out on the field following the game. That night softee mini-bats and balls featuring the York Revolution logo will be handed out when gates open at 5:30 to the first 2,000 fans in attendance, courtesy of Comcast. It's also another Friday Plaza Party on the Brooks Robinson Plaza, featuring the award winning Mark DeRose Band. The band also opened for Blues Traveler during the June 14 concert at Sovereign Bank Stadium. The Ducks have recently signed two former Major League outfielders, Jay Gibbons (Orioles), and Nook Logan (Tigers, Nationals). Both are expected to see significant playing time in the three game series against the Revs.

The game against Long Island on Saturday, June 28 at 7:07 p.m. will feature another post-game fireworks show, courtesy of PennLive.com. Scratch-off baseball cards will be handed out as fans enter the gates, featuring Catcher Luis Taveras, sponsored by Ettline Foods. K.D. Rosengrant's "Roof Man" (The Revolution's own SuperHero who turns foul balls into fun prizes for fans) is scheduled to appear at the ballpark, and "Stu-Pendous & The Big Hitters" will be performing an all-new dance number on the field!

Sunday's contest against the Ducks at 5:07 p.m. will feature all of the usual weekend attractions. A pre-game autograph session with the entire York Revolution team will take place on the field from 3:45 to 4 p.m, followed by catch on the field from 4 p.m. until 4:20. Post-game, kids can run the bases, courtesy of rabbittransit. The first 2,000 fans to Sunday's game can also pick up a FREE York Revolution navy blue home replica cap, courtesy of Orthopedic and Spine Specialists.

On Monday, June 30, the Revolution welcome the Newark Bears to Sovereign Bank Stadium for a three-game set. Of course it's Monkey Magic Monday, where fans are guaranteed to see a live monkey, live magic, or both!

Tuesday, July 1 will be one of the biggest nights of the year in DownTown York. Prior to the game against the Bears, the Revolution and Rawlings will honor legendary Orioles third baseman Brooks Robinson, for his selection to the Rawlings "All-Time Gold Glove Award Team." Plenty of special surprises to honor Brooks for this landmark achievement are planned throughout the evening. During his Hall of Fame career, Robinson was the winner of 16 Gold Gloves at the "hot corner." The Revolution's first ever bobblehead will also be handed out when gates open at 6 p.m. The first 3,000 fans through the gate will receive their very own bobblehead of the best mascot in the Atlantic League, DownTown, sponsored by Turkey Hill Dairy and Downtown Inc.

Just when you think the Revolution couldn't fit anymore into a homestand, they wrap up the three games with Newark with "Pops In the Ballpark," featuring the York Symphony Orchestra, presented by the Family Health Council of Central Pennsylvania on Wednesday, July 2. The Orchestra will play throughout the game, and highlight another post-game fireworks show at game's end.

On July 3, the Revs travel to Lancaster to resume the 2008 "War of the Roses" presented by Engle Printing and Publishing against the Barnstormers. The teams will play two games at Clipper Magazine Stadium on the 3rd and 4th, before returning to Sovereign Bank Stadium for games on July 5 and 6. The 5th will feature a post-game fireworks spectacular, presented by the PA Lottery. On July 6, FREE War of the Roses T-Shirts will be given to the first 2,000 fans in the ballpark, courtesy of the Community Courier!

Don't miss an inning of the action! It's 10 days, eight games and four giveaways....but only ONE home team! With the capacity of Sovereign Bank Stadium upwards of 6,000, plenty of good seats for all games are still available. Purchase tickets online at YorkRevolution.com, or call 717-801-HITS!
