
RailCats' ace Tony Cogan named Pitcher of the Week

Gary, Ind.- The Northern League have named Gary SouthShore RailCats' starter Tony Cogan pitcher of the week (May 26th -June 1st). Kansas City's Brad Correll was named player of the week.
The RailCats' southpaw went 2-0 with a minuscule 0.63 earned run average over 14.1 innings. Also during this span he struck out 14 hitters bringing his season total to a league high 25.
Cogan has gone at least six innings in each of his five starts this season. In his last outing on June 1, he struck out 10 hitters over 6.2 innings of work yielding one earned run on six hits for victory against Fargo-Moorhead.
Cogan spent last season as the closer for the Northern League champion RailCats; saving a franchise record 25 games.
The RailCats start a three-game series with Schaumburg today and will be home for three against Joliet and two against Schaumburg on June 6
