Redhawks beat the Jackhammers 4-3 on Tuesday

FARGO, ND-The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks scored three unanswered runs to come back from a 3-1 deficit and beat the Joliet JackHammers 4-3 before 2,914 fans at Newman Outdoor Field on Tuesday night.
The JackHammers (9-9) scored a run in the first inning against RedHawks starter Brett Lawson. Nick McIntyre (1-4) hit a one-out double and advanced to third base on a wild pitch. Juan Diaz (1-4) hit an RBI single to score McIntyre for a 1-0 Joliet lead.
The RedHawks responded with a run against Joliet starter David Moraga in the first. Joe Mathis (1-3) led off with a walk and went to second base on a bloop single by Boomer Berry (1-3). Jeff Eure (2-4) hit an RBI single to score Mathis and tie the game at 1-1.
Joliet pushed across two more runs in the fourth inning. Dorian Rojas (1-2) worked a two-out walk and stole second base. Wally Backman, Jr. (1-2) hit a single to move Rojas to third base. Nick Prosise (1-4) and Doc Brooks (2-5) followed with back-to-back RBI singles to score Rojas and Backman, Jr. respectively. Joliet took a 3-1 lead.
The RedHawks pushed across two runs in the fourth inning to quickly tie the game at 3-3.
Kory Wayment (1-2) reached first base on an error by Joliet SS Dorian Rojas. Zach Penprase (2-4) hit an RBI triple to score Wayment. After Mathis walked, Berry hit a sacrifice fly to score Penprase and tie the game at 3-3.
The JackHammers gave up the go-ahead run in the sixth inning. Wayment reached base on a one-out single and advanced to second base when Penprase reached on an error by Rojas at SS. Mathis hit an RBI single to give Fargo-Moorhead the 4-3 lead.
Moraga pitched five innings and allowed three runs, (one earned run), on four hits. He walked four and struck out five. Daniel Touchet (0-1) suffered the loss by pitching one and one-thirds innings. He allowed one run on two hits.
Loose Gravel: The game started at 8:54 because of a one-hour fifty-four minute rain delay.
The JackHammers continue their series in Fargo-Moorhead on Wednesday night. Brian Forystek (1-1, 4.05) will get the ball for the JackHammers against LHP Adam Rowe (1-0, 2.76) for the RedHawks.
