Quad Cities River Bandits News Release
River Bandits fans coming to Modern Woodmen Park will get their first taste of the tropics on Wednesday night, as the Tiki Bar, Tiki Lounge, and Tiki Bed will be open to the public for the first time when the River Bandits return to Davenport.
"The new Tiki Village is something that we have been planning since Day One, and it is a real thrill to see this idea finally come to fruition," said team owner Dave Heller. "We are committed to making Modern Woodmen Park the most fun ballpark in the entire Midwest, and the Tiki area and hot tub are big components of that effort. The Tiki Bar and Lounge offer fans at Modern Woodmen Park an area where they can sit back and relax with a cold drink in a laid-back area while still watching the ballgame from outdoors. The Tiki Bed might be the most unique group area in all of sports, and I know it is the most comfortable one!"
Located on the right field berm, the Tiki Bar and Lounge are open to the public. All fans in the ballpark have access to the area, which will feature half-price Pina Coladas on Wednesday and Thursday and plenty of Jimmy Buffett music to celebrate its opening. In addition to Pina Coladas and a standard drink menu, themed beverages such as Mississippi Mai Thais and Tiki Bombs will also be served. And when a River Bandits player hits a "Tiki Bomb" - a home run that lands in or over the Tiki Bar - that drink will be offered for just $2 for the remainder of that inning. Guests in the Tiki area will also be able to order food from the barbeque pit located next to the nearby Jumer's Casino Rock Island Hot Tub Deck.
The Tiki Bed, also known as the "most comfortable seat in all of sports," is a unique new spot designed to host cozy groups of six people or less. For just $90, groups can enjoy River Bandits games from the most luxurious seat in all of baseball, featuring a king size bed and a private wait staff to satisfy all of your food and beverage needs. A couples package is also available that includes champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, and a candlelit dinner. To book the Tiki Bed or find out more about it the entire Tiki Village, fans can call (563) 3-BANDIT.
"Fans that are coming to Modern Woodmen Park for the first time in 2008 may have to do a double take," said Vice President/General Manager Kirk Goodman. "With the Jumer's Casino Rock Island Hot Tub Deck and the new Tiki Village in the right field corner, the Crop Production Corn Field down the left field line, and all of the upgraded concessions stands, we are pleased at the quality and the quantity of the new additions. The guest experience at Modern Woodmen Park is better than it has ever been, and we are going to make sure the trend of steady improvement continues."
UP NEXT: The River Bandits return to Modern Woodmen Park on Wednesday with Guaranteed Prize Night and an IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union Night, giving members of the credit union the opportunity to get two free kids tickets by showing their membership cards at the box office. Game two of the series will be Soap Opera Night on a Thirst-Day Thursday, featuring half-price draft beer, wine, margaritas, and fountain Pepsi products, courtesy of the Quad Cities' CW and Rock 104.9 FM. Get a blast from the past on Friday with â80s Night and stay late for a KWQC Fireworks Friday. Lastly, the homestand will conclude with a Salute to the Cowbell and a Cowbell Giveaway to the first 1,500 fans thanks to Kemp's Ice Cream and Rock 104.9 FM, while "The Warmth" will take the stage live for a post-game concert on a Miller Light and WQAD Newschannel 8 Rockin' Saturday. Bandit gear featuring the new team name and logo is currently available by visiting the Modern Woodmen Park team store, and season ticket packages, mini-packages, and the popular You-Pick-10 Plan are on sale at the park or by calling (563) 3-BANDITS!
