San Antonio Rampage News Release

SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Rampage used some of that third-period magic that has been so plentiful for them this season.

Josh Gratton and David LeNeveu may have taken some of it with them in a Feb. 26 trade that sent the pair to Hartford, as the Wolf Pack took a 2-1 decision Saturday night in front a sellout crowd at the AT&T Center.

Gratton tallied the game-winning goal with 6:48 left, after the Rampage rallied yet again to tie the score earlier in the third period.

The equalizer was set up on a centering pass by Ryan Caldwell through the slot to Cam Paddock, who tipped the puck by LeNeveu and into the upper-left pocket of the net. The goal came at the seven-minute mark of the final frame to push the Rampage's American Hockey League-best total to 79 third-period goals. Travis Roche picked up an assist as well on the marker.

LeNeveu made 31 of 32 saves against his former team and earned his first win since joining Hartford. The goal was also the first for Gratton with his new team.

Al Montoya, who was sent to the Rampage in the trade, continued his stellar play. He stopped 28 shots on the night, pushing his save-percentage with the Rampage to .943 (82-87).

The game was No. 499 of Pete Vandermeer's AHL tenure. The Rampage committed a season-low one penalty, but only went on the power play twice in a loosely officiated contest.

Left wing Brodie Dupont netted the game's first goal at the halfway mark of the second period. He fired a shot right off a face-off to put Hartford up 1-0 at 10:32.

The Rampage finished 5-2 on their seven-game homestand, and will now embark on a six-game road trip beginning Wednesday at Worcester. Game-time is set for 6:05 p.m. local time and can be heard on Ticket 760 (KTKR-AM) with Joe Dominey calling all the action.
