
Sonics and Storm Support Nothing But Nets

SEATTLE, January 28, 2008 - The Seattle SuperSonics and Storm Foundation invite all fans to help a good cause and participate in a Nothing But Nets community forum and fundraiser on Wednesday, Jan. 30 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Todd Beamer High School.
Nothing But Nets is a grassroots campaign that aims to save lives by preventing malaria, the leading killer of children in Africa, and raise funds for insecticide treated bed nets which help stop the spread of disease. The organization, in partnership with Todd Beamer High School Academy of Global Leadership and Economics and The Southern Sudanese Community of Washington, will host an evening of African culture, performances, cuisine, raffles and local community speakers.
The public is invited to hear guest speakers Gach Dedoch, one of the Lost Boys of Sudan, Seattle Sonics and Storm Community Programs Manager Wyjuana Montgomery and Kevin Henry and City of Bellevue's Diversity Program and radio talk show host of KKNW 1150AM's program Afragenesis. Scheduled performances include Percussion for Kids, an award-winning group based out of Rainier Vista Boys & Girls Club, vocalists from Kentlake High school, and Hal Jackson's Talented Teens
