Kalamazoo to Host Fort Wayne This Saturday during 8th Annual Teddy Bear Toss Night

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud members of the International Hockey League, announce the 8th Annual Teddy Bear Toss Night Presented by Kodiak Construction, The CW 7 and WKFR will occur this Saturday, December 8th, when the K-Wings host archrivals, the Fort Wayne Komets at 7:30 p.m.

Fans are encouraged to bring a new or gently used teddy bear or other stuffed animal to the December 8th game. After Kalamazoo scores its first goal, all fans will be allowed to throw their bears onto the ice. A majority of the bears collected will be donated to Salvation Army. The remaining bears will be delivered by the Kalamazoo Wings, Slappy and Santa Claus to patients of The Children's Hospital at Bronson on Monday, December 17th at 2 p.m.

Over the past seven years, the K-Wings have collected thousands of stuffed animals that were distributed to children during the holidays.

Following Saturday's game against Fort Wayne, the K-Wings will remain home for a Sunday 4 p.m. matinee against the Muskegon Fury on Sport Clips Haircuts Night. Fans will have the opportunity to donate their own hair for Locks of Love, which is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.

At the completion of Sunday's contest, the players will be partaking in a public skate with the fans.
