
Sabres Call For Macarthur, Stewart Heads To Florida

(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Americans General Manager Jody Gage announced today that the Buffalo Sabres have recalled left wing Clarke MacArthur and the Florida Panthers have recalled right wing Anthony Stewart.
MacArthur receives his first NHL recall of the season after registering eight goals and 10 assists for 18 points in 14 games with the Amerks. The Lloydminster, Alberta, native currently leads the American Hockey League in points (18) and goals (8), while his 10 assists are good enough for sixth in the league. Further, five of his eight tallies this season have come on the power play, good enough for third place.
The Amerks captain is currently riding a seven-game point streak (7+5) and has notched a goal in his last five games.
MacArthur made his NHL debut last season with the Sabres, recording seven points (3+4) in 19 appearances. He tallied his first NHL goal on February 22nd in a 6-5 shootout win over the Ottawa Senators.
Stewart departs from the Flower City after receiving his second recall from the Florida Panthers this season. The 22-year-old right wing has appeared in five games with the Panthers. With Rochester, Stewart has collected seven points (4+3) and 11 PIM while appearing in eight games.
Stewart will join the team in Tampa Bay and will be eligible to play tomorrow evening when the Panthers take on the Tampa Bay Lightning at 7:30 p.m. at the St. Pete Times Forum.
Rochester's three-game weekend kicks off with a North Division matchup as Rochester visits Copps Coliseum to take on the defending Calder Cup Champion Hamilton Bulldogs on Friday, November 9th. The 7:30 p.m. contest will be broadcast live on Hot Talk 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and B2 networks. The contest will be the fourth of eight scheduled meetings between the two teams this season.
The game will also be the second between the North Division rivals within the last two weeks. In their previous encounter, the Amerks blanked the 'Dogs, 3-0, on Saturday night at The Blue Cross Arena. Rochester is 57-44-8 all-time against Hamilton.
The following night, Rochester will make its second trip of the season down the I-90 Interstate to the War Memorial at Oncenter to face the Syracuse Crunch in the fourth of 12 meetings of the season. The 7:30 p.m. contest will be broadcast live on Hot Talk 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and B2 networks. Rochester is 78-58-15 all-time against Syracuse.
Rochester will return home on Sunday, October 28th to welcome the first and only visit of the season from the Chicago Wolves. The 6:05 p.m. contest will be broadcast live on Hot Talk 1280 WHTK, wktk.com and B2 networks. The game falls on a Supercuts $6.00 Sunday. All kids 12 and under can receive a ticket to the game for just $6.00. Rochester is 5-2-1 all-time against the Atlanta Thrashers' affiliate.
Following the game, fans can head to The Distillery (1142 Mt. Hope Ave.) for the Amerks' official postgame party.
