Shaw Returns For Second Tour With Trenton

TRENTON, NJ (October 4, 2007) - The Trenton Devils today announced that they have agreed to terms with defenseman Evan Shaw. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Shaw, 23, returns for his second season with Trenton after posting 7 assists and 71 penalty minutes over 59 games last year. Now a third-year pro, the Narragansett, RI-native split his rookie season between the Columbia Inferno and the San Diego Gulls, totaling 8 points (4g, 4a) and 60 PIM in 68 contests.

The 6-2, 210-pound blueliner's amateur career featured 169 games played and 33 points (5g, 28a) compiled over three years with the Quebec Ramparts of Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Shaw also appeared in 12 matches with the U.S. National Jr. Team in 2001-02.

Shaw is the seventh player to sign with Trenton for the 2007-08 season, joining forwards Jim Henkel, Andrew Leach and Tony Zancanaro and defensemen Matt Cohen, Jay Pemberton and Stephen Wood.

The Trenton Devils will open the upcoming season against the Reading Royals at Sovereign Bank Arena on Friday, October 19 at 7:30pm. Full and partial season ticket plans for 2007-08 are available by calling (609) 599-9500.
