Whitecaps take fourth in a row
August 29, 2007 - Midwest League (MWL) West Michigan Whitecaps
COMSTOCK PARK - Duane Below earned a share of the Midwest League lead in victories by picking up his 13th in a 6-1 Whitecaps triumph over Fort Wayne. West Michigan completed a three game sweep of the Wizards and has won four games in a row.Below pitched seven innings and did not allow an earned run. He struck out eight and walked three.
Jordan Newton went 2-for-3 with a home run and an RBI sacrifice fly. The West Michigan catcher was 7-for-10 in the series with 5 RBI.
Scott Sizemore went 2-for-3 with a pair of walks, an RBI and a run scored for the Caps. Gorkys Hernandez was 2-for-5 with a double and a run scored.
West Michigan went 14-4 against the Wizards this season, including an 11-0 record at Fifth Third Ballpark.
Casey Fien and Brett Jensen each pitched scoreless innings of relief for the Whitecaps.
