Jars Of Clay, NashVegas Night, Birthday Bash On Tap Over Eight Games

NASHVILLE - The Nashville Sounds return home to Greer Stadium on Tuesday to play an eight-game homestand. The Sounds will play a four-game series against both the Las Vegas 51s (AAA-Dodgers) and the Tucson Sidewinders (AAA-Diamondbacks).

The Sounds' series opener against the 51s is on Tuesday, May 29. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and the gates will open at 5:30 p.m.

To all myspace.com users, if you list the Nashville Sounds as one of your Top Friends, you can receive a 2-for-1 ticket offer for the game for up to eight (8) free tickets. All phone orders must be submitted 24 hours in advance. All game day purchases must be accompanied by a printout showing the Sounds as one of your Top Friends.

On Thursday it will be NashVegas night at Greer Stadium and one lucky Sounds fan will win a free three-day, two-night hotel stay in the Imperial Palace's Luv Tub Room in Las Vegas. The prize package also includes one bottle of champagne, two Legends tickets with one cocktail each, two coupons to the Emperor's Buffet or a $5 credit toward food purchased in any restaurant, two Auto Collection passes, gaming lessons, and baggage handling at check-in and check-out. Fans must be at least 21 years old to participate.

Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. Every Thursday during the 2007 season is Thirsty Thursday where all draft beverages are $1 throughout the entire stadium until the end of the 5th inning or 8:30 p.m., whichever comes first. Fans can enjoy a free pre-game concert courtesy of the Miller Lite Concert Series as they enter the gates near the main ticket office. Local Nashville band Delilah Why will be performing.

Friday is Faith Night at Greer Stadium and Christian band Jars of Clay will be playing a concert to raise money for their Blood:Water Mission charity. Jars of Clay has been a staple to Christian music since the release of their self-titled debut album in 1995. Since their formation, the group has released eight albums and collected eleven Dove Awards and three Grammy Awards.

All proceeds raised will go to the group's Blood:Water Mission, which helps fight the AIDS pandemic in Africa. The Sounds' Faith Night contributions will be specifically dedicated to community development in Lwala, a rural village in western Kenya to support the efforts of Milton and Fredrick Ochieng, Lwala natives and brothers who are current Vanderbilt medical students constructing a health clinic in their home village. The Ochieng brothers lost their parents to AIDS.

Friday's series finale is also Car Care night at Greer Stadium. Fans will have the opportunity to be entered into drawings for automobile related prizes and there will be information booths set up on the concourse regarding proper car care, management practices of automotive fluids, and water pollution.

Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. and the game will begin at 7:00 p.m. After the game, Sounds fans are invited to stay for a fireworks show, courtesy of Your Select Buick-Pontiac-GMC Dealers.

Saturday's series opener against the Sidewinders is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. Gates will open at 4:30 p.m. and fans are invited to stay after the game for a fireworks show provided by Your Select Buick-Pontiac-GMC Dealers.

On Sunday, the Sounds will be celebrating their 30th anniversary in Nashville with a birthday bash at Greer Stadium. Sounds fans are invited to join in on the fun and have birthday cake and ice cream. There will also be magicians and balloon animals at the stadium to help celebrate 30 seasons at Greer.

Every Sunday during the 2007 season is Purity Sundae Sundays and all Purity Ice Cream Sundaes will be $1 during the game.

On Monday, the gates will open at 5:30 p.m. and the first pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Every Monday in 2007 is Dollar Dog Night, where hot dogs are only $1 at every concession stand throughout the stadium. It will also be H.G. Hill Monday, where Sounds fans can receive a buy one, get one free ticket offer for up to four tickets by presenting an H.G. Hill receipt at the Sounds box office.

The Sounds and Sidewinder wrap up the homestand with a noon finale on Tuesday, June 5.
