
Capitals assign Erskine to Hershey

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Washington Capitals have assigned defenseman John Erskine to the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today.
Erskine, who signed with the Capitals as a free agent Sept. 14, has appeared in 141 career NHL games with the New York Islanders and Dallas Stars, compiling five points (three goals, two assists) and 336 penalty minutes
Tickets remain for Saturday's home opener with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at GIANT Center. Pre-game ceremonies honoring the 2005-06 Calder Cup Champions will begin at 6:30 p.m. Call for tickets at (717) 508-BEAR or visit the GIANT Center box office.
