INDIANAPOLIS -- Left-hander Tom Gorzelanny registered his longest scoreless outing as a Triple-A pitcher, while third baseman Yurendell de Caster went 3-for-3 with three runs as Indianapolis rolled to a 6-0 blanking of Durham Saturday evening at Victory Field.

The Indians, who have won 14 of their last 20 contests, improve to 20-15 overall. The Bulls, who have dropped five of their last six road tilts, fall to 19-16 on the season. Indianapolis continues to sit atop the International League's West Divison, now 2.5 games ahead of Toledo.

Gorzelanny (8.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 8 SO) earned the victory, improving to 2-2. The eight scoreless frames were his most since firing a three-hit complete game for Double-A Altoona on June 26, 2005.

De Caster, who entered the contest hitting .217, reached base in all four plate appearances. The utility man singled in the second, walked in the fourth, singled in the seventh and doubled in the eighth. It was de Caster's first three-hit performance since Aug. 21, 2005.

The Indians got things rolling with two runs in the second. 1B Chris Richard brought de Caster plateward with a double to center field and scored moments later when SS J.J. Furmaniak successfully executed a suicide squeeze.

Indianapolis added to its advantage with three insurance runs in the seventh and one more in the eighth.

Richard finished the contest 2-for-4 with two runs and a pair of RBI. CF Rajai Davis also recorded a multi-hit game, going 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Bulls RHP Jason Hammel (6.0 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, 4 SO) was pinned with the loss, falling to 3-3. RF Darnell McDonald paced the Durham offense, going 2-for-4.

Tribe RHP Scott Strickland (1.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 SO) increased his scoreless innings streak to 21.2, while DH Raul Gonzalez failed to reach base for the first time in his past 19 games.

The two clubs return to Victory Field Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m., for game three of the four-game series. RHP Brandon Duckworth is scheduled to start for Indianapolis, while RHP Brian Stokes is expected to get the nod for Durham.

The game will be carried by ESPN-950 AM and IndyIndians.com as Howard Kellman and Scott McCauley have the call. Sunday's pre-game show begins at 1:40 p.m.
