
Sweepstakes held to celebrate 10 million fans

OMAHA - The Omaha Royals expect to see the 10 millionth fan in franchise history come through the Rosenblatt Stadium turnstiles sometime in late May. The team is now holding a 10 Millionth Fan Sweepstakes, in which a lucky fan will win a Millionaire's salary for the length of nine innings of Omaha Royals baseball action on Saturday, May 27th. Plus, all fans attending the 4:05 p.m. doubleheader vs. Memphis that day will receive "Greatest Fans" posters and other prizes through drawings all night long.
Prior to the 2006 season, 9,909,003 fans have attended Omaha Royals games in the club's 37-year history dating back to 1969. There are currently 108 full-season minor league teams in the nation and the Omaha Royals will become just the 12th minor league franchise in history to reach the 10-million mark in attendance.
The 10 Millionth Fan Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of Nebraska and Iowa who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. There are two ways to enter - online or by mail:
Online: Visit www.Oroyals.com and submit your complete name, date of birth, address, city, state and ZIP, telephone number and email address via the online entry form. Online entries must be made by 7:00 p.m. CDT on May 23, 2006.
Mail: print your name, address, city, state and Zip, day and evening phone number and email address (optional) on a standard size postcard and mail to: Omaha Royals 10 Millionth Fan Sweepstakes, 1202 Bert Murphy Ave., Omaha, NE 68107. Mail-in entries must be postmarked by May 18, 2006 and received by May 25, 2006.
The winner of the 10 Millionth Fan Sweepstakes will be selected by a random drawing on Friday, May 26. He or she will receive the hourly equivalent of a $10-million salary as calculated by dividing the number of hours in a year times the length of the first nine innings of baseball action (with a three-hour limit) during the doubleheader on May 27. Plus, they will be given four Field Box seats to the twinbill and $25 in 'Blatt Bucks for in-stadium purchases.
