Boutin and Rosehill Prepare For ECHL Playoffs

Springfield, MA - The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced today that goaltender Jonathan Boutin and defenseman Jay Rosehill have been reassigned to their ECHL affiliate, the Johnstown Chiefs. Both Boutin and Rosehill are expected to join the Chiefs for their opening round Kelly Cup playoff series with the Trenton Titans starting tonight in Johnstown.

Boutin has played in 19 games for the Chiefs this season posting a record of 8-9-2-0 on the season with a 2.93 goals against average and .920 save percentage. Boutin, who is in his first season of professional hockey, is second on the team in wins. Boutin participated in the ECHL All-Star Game stopping eight of 10 shots on goal in 20 minutes of action on Wednesday, January 25, 2006 in Fresno, California.

In 22 games with the Falcons this year, Boutin has posted a record of 8-12-2 with a 3.13 goals against average with a .900 save percentage. On November 5 in Hershey, Boutin recorded 50 saves against the Bears, the second highest amount of stops in a single game by a Falcons goaltender. Boutin earned his first AHL shutout on March 17 against the Lowell Lock Monsters. Boutin was drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the third round (96th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

Rosehill started the season with Johnstown playing in five games with the Chiefs before being recalled by Springfield on October 29. In 45 games with the Falcons, Rosehill has one goal and two assists for three points and 68 penalty minutes.

The Falcons conclude their 2005-06 regular season this week when they host the Albany River Rats on Thursday, April 13. Springfield heads to Portland on Friday, April 14, before hosting the Pirates on Saturday, April 15 at the MassMutual Center.
