Maywood Laguneros News Release
LONG BEACH, Calif. (Jan. 5, 2005) - The American Basketball Association (ABA) Long Beach Jam resigned guard Geno Carlisle today.
A member of last season's ABA Championship squad, Carlisle averaged 20.5 points per game with the Jam. This season, Carlisle appeared in six games with the Portland Trailblazers.
"Carlisle is the type of player that can put the ball in the hoop from anywhere on the court," team President Steve Chase said. "He is one of the best pure shooters in the game and will be a welcome infusion into the high-octane Jam offense."
Carlisle played collegiate ball at Northwestern (1994-1996) and California (1997-1999). In 1996, he was named an All-Big Ten First Team selection after averaging 19.9 p.p.g. for Northwestern. He received All-Pac 10 Honorable Mention as a senior, averaging 16.8 p.p.g. at Cal.
Carlisle will join the Jam this Friday at 7:30 at the Pyramid in Long Beach against the Bellevue Blackhawks.
