
Fisher Cats Add Pitcher Jordy Templet In Time For Norwich Series

Norwich, CT -The Toronto Blue Jays today assigned right-handed pitcher Jordy Templet to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats of the Double-A Eastern League. The 22-year old Templet was 0-1 with a 3.86 ERA and two saves in 15 games for the Charleston (WV) Alleycats, Toronto's Single-A affiliate in the South Atlantic League.
Templet, a Blue Jays' 17th round selection in the 2003 draft, allowed nine runs -all earned- in 21 innings for Charleston. He struck out 17 and walked nine. The Louisiana-Lafayette product also appeared in one game for Single-A Dunedin of the Florida State League, where he was 0-0, 0.00 in one inning pitched.
Templet was 1-0 with a 1.04 ERA in eight games with Auburn of the New York-Penn League in 2003, his first season in professional baseball. He becomes the fourth member of the 2003 draft class on New Hampshire's roster, joining shortstop Aaron Hill (1st round), and pitchers Josh Banks (2nd round) and Jamie Vermilyea (9th round).
The Fisher Cats roster now stands at 23 players.
