Game Keys - Joe Koshanski drove in three runs including the game winner in the eighth inning to deliver the Nashville Sounds a 7-6 come from behind win over the Zephyrs at Greer Stadium. The Sounds scored two runs in the seventh and two additional runs in the eighth for the come from behind win.
John Lindsey had two hits, a home run and three RBI for the Zephyrs. New Orleans jumped out to a 5-2 lead in the game. Z's starter John Koronka pitched well but suffered the no decision. Michael Ryan added two hits and has a hit in all 40 road games in which he has started.
Jesus Colome pitched two scoreless innings in relief to earn the win for Nashville. Brett Sinkbeil allowed two runs and suffered the blown save and loss for the Zephyrs.
The Z's and Sounds split the four game series. The Z's finish the month of July 10-18.
Game Notes: The Z's assigned pitcher Brad Stone to Class AA Jacksonville and activated reliever Carlos Vasquez from disabled list. The Marlins designated shortstop Andy Gonzalez for assignment. The Marlins have ten days to trade, release or reassign Gonzalez if he clears waviers. Manager Edwin Rodriguez served the fourth game of his five game suspension. The Zephyrs are in a stretch where they are playing the current first or second place team in 39 of 44 games.
Coming Up: The Zephyrs return home to meet the Iowa Cubs on Saturday in the first of a four game set. The Z's and Cubs meet at 6PM at Zephyr Field. The Z's will start RH Hayden Penn vs. TBA. Promotion: Kirk Bullinger Hall of Fame Induction and Replica Jersey Giveaway. RADIO: AM 690 WIST
