New Orleans Baby Cakes News Release

Las Vegas' James McDonald struck out 10 Zephyrs in six innings of his Triple-A debut, and the 51s earned a series split by beating New Orleans on Wednesday night, 4-2.

The 23-year-old McDonald, called up from Double-A Jacksonville this week, gave up a leadoff home run to Jesus Feliciano in the bottom of the first before recording his next four outs via strikeout.

He would surrender just one more hit over the remainder of his night, a two-out single by Andy Green in the third.

Willie Collazo (4-7) got the spot start for the Zephyrs, only his second start since June 29, and gave up four runs on seven hits in six innings to take the loss.

Las Vegas was led by John Lindsey, who homered in each of his first two plate appearances, giving him 22 home runs on the season. Jason Repko added a two-run homer off Collazo in the fifth.

The Zephyrs have their final scheduled off day of the season on Thursday, before opening a four-game series in Memphis on Friday night, with RHP Nelson Figueroa getting the starting nod in the series opener at 7:05 p.m.
