Andres Torres drove in Luis Figueroa for the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Iowa Cubs beat the Salt Lake Bees 6-5 Wednesday afternoon at Principal Park. Luis Figueroa doubled to lead off the bottom of the ninth before Torres lined a shot to right field in front of 8,252 people. Salt Lake took a 5-4 lead in the sixth inning when Freddy Sandoval doubled and was driven in on Kendry Morales' single. Iowa came back to tie the game 5-5 in the bottom of the eighth inning when Kroeger walked and Casey McGehee doubled. Salt Lake posted four runs in the first inning thanks to Brandon Wood's three-run homer to left and Ben Johnson's RBI single for an early 4-0 lead. Bobby Scales got Iowa on the board in the first inning when he singled and was driven in on McGehee's team-leading 73rd RBI to cut the Bees' lead. McGehee drove in three more runs in the game, extending his team leading RBI to 76. Down 4-1, Torres led off the third inning for the Cubs with his eighth triple of the year. Hoffpauir plated Torres to trim the Bees' lead 4-2 before the Cubs tied the game at four in the third inning when McGehee doubled and drove in Hoffpauir and Josh Kroeger. Kevin Hart (3-2) eaned the win, throwing one shutout inning of relief while Darren O'Day (1-2) was tagged with the loss for the Bees. Iowa has a day off tomorrow before returning to play Friday in Round Rock.
