Mike Vento drilled four hits and drove in four runs as the visiting New Orleans Zephyrs snapped a three game losing streak and defeated the Iowa Cubs 11-4 on Friday night. Kip Bouknight pitched six innings and earned his second win for the Zs. The Z's offensive attack scored three runs in the first inning and had 16 hits in the win. The Zs Melvin Dorta also had four hits. Iowa leads the series 2 games to one. Game Notes: New Orleans is 2-9 on the 13 game road-trip. Relief pitcher Travis Hughes rejoined the club from the Nationals. Left handed pitcher Jason Norderum was assigned to Class AA Harrisburg. Z's catcher Alberto Castillo has started 13 of the last 15 games. The Zephyrs improved to 67-66 and are trying to finish with a winning record for the first time since 2001. new Orleans is eliminated from playoff contention, Round Rock clinched the division title. Coming Up: The Zephyrs and the Iowa Cubs will continue the four game series at 7:05 at Principle Park ....
