
Ziemmer Named WHL's Player of the Week

Prince George, BC - Have a week, Koehn Ziemmer!
The Cougars forward scored six goals and two assists in four games last week - to earn the WHL's Player of the Week Honour.
The 18-year-old tallied two goals and one assist last Wednesday against the Calgary Hitmen, two goals last Friday against the Red Deer Rebels, and two goals and one assist on Saturday against the Edmonton Oil Kings to bring him up to 26 goals and 36 assists for 62 points in 43 games this season.
With his two-goal performance last Wednesday, Ziemmer surpassed his previous career-high point total of 57 with this first full season with the Cougars last year. He needs four more goals to match his career best 30 tallies from the 2021-22 campaign.
As of Monday (today), Ziemmer is tied for 3rd in league scoring with Andrew Cristall of the Kelowna Rockets. The current leading point getters in the WHL are Regina Pats forward Connor Bedard (81 points) and Winnipeg ICE forward Zach Benson (65 points).
Ziemmer and teammate Riley Heidt are now off to Langley to get ready for the Kubota Canada CHL/NHL Top Prospect's Game on Wednesday, January 25th in Langley.
