
Zephyrs Score Eight in Seventh to Defeat RedHawks, 12-8

Metairie, LA â The New Orleans Zephyrs (11-11) scored eight runs in the seventh inning to defeat the Oklahoma RedHawks (13-9) 12 to 8 on Saturday Night at Zephyr Field in front of 5,994.
New Orleans jumped out to a 4 o 0 lead in the first inning as the Zephyrs scored four in the first off RedHawks starter Travis Hughes. Henri Stanley and Jason Lane had RBI singles while John Buck drove home two with a single.
Ryan Ludwick hit a grand slam in the sixth off Zephyrs starter Jonathan Johnson to tie the score at 4. The home run was Ludwick's third of the season. Ludwick had a two run double in the seventh as the RedHawks scored four to take an 8 to 4 lead.
The Zephyrs would score eight runs in the bottom of seventh on only four hits. The Z's would capitalize on the wildness of RedHawks pitchers Ray Beasley and Rudy Seanez. Beasley walked three while not retiring a batter in the inning. Seanez had two wild pitches and one walk in the inning as New Orleans won for the second night in a row and moved to 11-11 on the season.
Kirk Bullinger (1-1) picked up the win tossing 2 2/3 innings of scoreless of relief while striking out three and allowing only one hit. Beasley (0-1) suffered the loss.
The series with Oklahoma continues on Sunday at 2:05 p.m. Zephyrs mascot Clotile is scheduled to make return appearance at Sunday's game. The first 1,000 Kids ages 3-12 with a paid admission to the game receive a Baseball CD ROM Courtesy of Coke. A Baseball Clinic will also be held at 12:00 p.m. for kids ages 3-12.
