
Zephyrs beat Redbirds

The host New Orleans Zephyrs defeated the Memphis Redbirds by a score of 4-3 on Friday.
Nelson Figueroa (3-5) gets the win for New Orleans. Figueroa threw five innings and gave up two runs (one earned) on three hits.
Relief pitcher Roy Corcoran got his 10th save of the year after giving up a run on three hits in the final inning.
The Zephyrs were led offensively by first baseman Brandon Larson, who went 1-3 with two RBI and a run scored.
Memphis starting pitcher Alan Benes (5-6) gets the loss, giving up four runs (one earned) on five hits in six innings of play.
The win gives the Zephyrs a 1-0 series lead. The teams will take the field again on Saturday in a game scheduled for 6:00 PM CT.
