Zboril Returning to Saint John

SAINT JOHN - Jakub Zboril has been reassigned to the Saint John Sea Dogs from the NHL's Boston Bruins.

The Bruins made the announcement late Sunday. The defenceman will rejoin the Sea Dogs today.

Zboril, 18, was selected by Boston in the first round (13th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft. The native of Brno, Czech Republic, appeared in one preseason game with the Bruins, registering two penalty minutes.

In his rookie season with Saint John last year, Zboril totaled 13 goals and 33 points in 44 games. He added one goal and three points in five playoff games.

In a corresponding move, defenceman Shayne Dominie has been reassigned to the South Shore Lumberjacks of the Maritime Hockey League (MHL).

The Sea Dogs signed the 18-year-old as a free agent prior to the start of the regular season. He recorded one assist in five games with Saint John this season.
