Club de Foot Montreal News Release
MONTREAL - Montreal Impact defender Zarek Valentin has been selected by the U23 US National Team Thursday to a 10-day training camp in Frisco, Texas, from February 19 to 29.
Valentin had taken part in the previous camp in Carson, California, in January.
The 20-year-old defender is currently in California with the Impact. He will join the U.S. squad in Texas directly from Los Angeles.
Valentin has appeared in all three of the team's preseason games versus MLS competition, scoring a goal against the LA Galaxy last Tuesday.
The camp will end with a match against Mexico's U-23 National Team on Wednesday, February 29 at FC Dallas Stadium, at 9 pm (CT).
In addition, the team will play exhibition games against FC Dallas (MLS) on February 22, and the San Antonio Scorpions (NASL), on February 24.
The U-23s are preparing for the CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying tournament, with group play kicking off on March 22 at LP Field in Nashville.
Valentin has played 29 games for the U.S. U20 team, and has taken part in the U18, U17 and U15 programs.
