
Zaleski Throws Seven No-Hit Innings in Shut-out Win

Ottawa, ON - Pittsfield Colonials starting pitcher Kyle Zaleski spun six perfect and seven no-hit inning en-route to a 4-0 shut-out victory over the Quebec Capitales in Ottawa, Ontario Saturday night.
Zaleski (6-1) retired the first 18 batters he faced in order until Quebec's Alex Nunez reached on an error to lead-off the seventh inning. His first hit against came on a Robert Wagner double to begin the eighth. The right-hander finished the game after eight innings of work, allowing just one hit and one walk while fanning five for the victory. Quebec mustered just two hits in the game, tallying one against reliever Reymond Cruz who pitched the ninth inning for Pittsfield.
Colonials' second baseman Danny Bomback (3-for-4, 2B, HR) had three of Pittsfield's 12 hits in the game, including a solo home run. Right fielder Dan Carte (1-for-3, RBI) collected the only other RBI for the winners on a sacrifice fly.
Capitales' starting pitcher Troy Cate (1-2) suffered the loss in six innings of work, giving-up three runs (one earned) on eleven hits. Jeremy Hunt was tagged for one run over two innings out of the Quebec bullpen.
The Colonials will continue the four game series against Quebec in Ottawa on Sunday, at 1:05pm, when right-handed starter Trevor Marcotte (2-3) takes the hill against the Capitales' Karl Gelinas (2-2).
