
York Revolution To Unveil Brooks Robinson Statue

A statue of Brooks Robinson is set to unveil to kick-off the York Revolution Fan Fest. Though a baseball legend, Brooks Robinson has never had a statue of himself unveiled at any landmark. It is open to the public as Brooks Robinson and his family witness this historic occasion.
The ceremony will include the Statue dedication, a Proclamation of "Brooks Robinson Way" by City Official Joe Musso, unveiling of the statue and will conclude with comments by Brooks Robinson. Brooks will be available for interviews following the ceremony.
Brooks Robinson, a 1983 National Hall of Famer, began his professional playing debut in 1955 with the York White Roses and played 23 years with the Baltimore Orioles. The York Pirates ceased operation after their 1969 season and re-opened as the York Revolution in 2007.
