Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz News Release
OKLAHOMA CITY- The Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz (7-2) head east up Interstate 44 to take on their turnpike rivals, the Tulsa Talons (6-3). It's the second of three meetings between the Sooner state foes this season.
Both teams are coming off rebound victories last week, after losing the previous week. The Yard Dawgz had a strong defensive effort in posting a 46-13 home field victory over the Rio Grande Valley Dorados at the Ford Center. The Yard Dawgz shutout Rio Grande in three quarters, as Rio Grande scored all 13 points in the second quarter.
Tulsa returns home after defeating the Manchester Wolves 50-35. In the first meeting of the season between these two teams, the Yard Dawgz set a franchise record with 90 points, en route to a 90-54 win in Oklahoma City on May 6.
"This is always such a natural rivalry game, and with them (Tulsa) only a game behind us for first place, it should be even more intense," Yard Dawgz head coach Jeff Jarnigan said. "We'll definitely have to be ready for a battle."
