
Boise, Idaho awarded af2 expansion team for 2007

CHICAGO - The af2 Board of Directors approved an application from a multiple member limited liability corporation of Idaho Sports Properties/Block22 - owners of the Qwest Arena, Grove Hotel, and Idaho Steelheads (ECHL), Level 7 LLC, and AW Football Partners for an expansion arenafootball2 team in Boise, Idaho, the League office announced today.
"We have the utmost confidence in this operating group's commitment to run a top-notch organization both on and off the field for many years," said af2 President Jerry Kurz. "And we're excited to be able to bring the total entertainment experience of Arena Football to the Boise area."
The yet-to-be-named team will play its home games at the Qwest Arena in Boise beginning in April of 2007.
"We are ecstatic to bring the heart-pounding action of Arena Football to the great city of Boise," said Marc Rasich, Level 7 Managing Member. "Boise is a strong sports market with a solid foundation of loyal football fans. We are excited to introduce the most fan-friendly, full-throttle and affordable experience in professional sports to this market."
