Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz News Release

OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz (7-5) moved up to #11 in this weeks af2 Coaches Poll. Last week, the Dawgz defeated the Corpus Christi Sharks (2-10) in a record breaking performance, 93-41, winning their third straight game. The return of multiple key players from injuries has helped the team recover from a midseason drop off.

The Yard Dawgz offense was lead by the Offensive Player of the Game WR Al Hunt and the Ironman of the Game FB Freddie Rollins. Hunt dazzled fans with his one-handed touchdown catch and completion of a touchdown pass to QB Robert Kent. He finished the game with three receptions for 79 yards and three receiving touchdowns. Rollins was a jack of all trades totaling 90 all-purpose yards with three touchdowns and four solo tackles.

Lead by the return of DL Mondre Dickerson, the defense forced five sacks and four interceptions. They also joined in on the scoring fest with three defensive touchdowns. The Yard Dawgz went on to post the most points scored in af2 history in the first half (59), and 93 total points for the game, which tops the franchises previous mark for total points scored (90).

Oklahoma City travels to Spokane this week to kickoff a two week road trip. The Yard Dawgz return home Saturday, July 11, to take on the Bossier-Shreveport BattleWings in their final home game of the regular season, at the Cox Convention Center. Yard Dawgz single game tickets are on sale, starting at only $10! The Yard Dawgz Block Party begins every home game at 5:00 PM on Reno. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
