Rollins named af2 JLS Ironman of the Week

OKLAHOMA CITY - After an all-around performance against the Corpus Christi Shark FB Freddie Rollins was named the JLS Ironman of the Week by the af2 league office.

Rollins (6'1 275) totaled a career-high 61 yards rushing on 10 rushing attempts with two touchdowns. He added two catches for 29 yards and a touchdown and setting the tone on kickoffs with four solo tackles. On the season Rollins has rumbled to 227 rushing yards and has tied his rushing touchdown record from last year at 14, with four games remaining on the schedule.

After joining the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz midway through last season the Mary-Hardin Baylor product went on to set the franchise marks for rushing yards (227) and touchdowns (14) in a season. During his career he has totaled 846 total yards (458 rushing, 388 receiving) and 36 touchdowns. To solidify his Ironman role, Rollins has punished opposing players with 28.5 tackles.

JLS Ironman of the Week candidates included:

Albany's Jared Jones, Rio Grande Valley's Craig Turner, Mahoning Valley's Patrick Wells, Milwaukee's Scott Burnoski, Tulsa's Jeff Hughley, Kentucky's William Mulder, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's Antwun Williams, Arkansas' Ahmad Brown, Boise's Alex Guerrero, Tennessee Valley's Travis Blanchard and Spokane's Kevin McCullough.

Oklahoma City travels to Spokane this week to kickoff a two week road trip. The Yard Dawgz return home Saturday, July 11, to take on the Bossier-Shreveport BattleWings in the final their home game of the regular season at the Cox Convention Center.
