Amarillo Venom News Release
Amarillo, TX 6/24/09 - The Amarillo Dusters have activated defensive back Kendrick Walker, the team announced Wednesday.
Walker, 28 (5/15/1981), suited up for the Lubbock Renegades of the af2 last season, earning 57 tackles, 5 interceptions, and a team-high 31 pass breakups.
"Kendrick will bring a veteran presents to our defense," commented Dusters General Manager Joe Morgado. "Kendrick has played at this level before. His veteran presents and leadership will greatly influence our defense."
Walker, the Abilene Christian alum, will enter his third stint with Amarillo. Kendrick played for the Dusters during the 2004 championship campaign as well as the 2005 season. Before joining the Dusters this season, Walker was teaching special education at Randall High School.
Amarillo (2-10) will return home this Saturday, June 27th at 7pm to take on the Iowa Barnstormers. Fans will be able to put their names in a drawing to win a chance to "Ride with a Duster" at Wonderland this Sunday from 1pm-3pm. Game tickets start as low as $10.
