Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz News Release

OKLAHOMA CITY-The Yard Dawgz fourth season is quickly approaching and the team has made final roster decisions. Training camp and the team's scrimmage against Bossier City-Shreveport helped Head Coach John Fitzgerald narrow down to the final roster.

Leading the Yard Dawgz on the field this season are several members of last year's squad, including: Al Hunt, Barry Giles, Fred Shaw, and Jon Holland.

WR/DB Hunt, the only holdover from the inaugural team, the five year af2 veteran has had a huge influence on the team's past success. He received second team All-Conference honors in 2005 and first team All-Conference in 2004. He was also awarded second team All-Conference when he was with the Yard Dawgz division rival, the Tulsa Talons. Last season, Hunt had 85 receptions for 1,278 yards and 37 touchdowns, along with 50 solo tackles.

OL Barry Giles will anchor the offensive line for a third season. The former Oklahoma Sooner was one of the most consistent players for the Yard Dawgz last season, helping them to a franchise best 11-5 record.

WR/DB Fred Shaw finished the 2006 season with 25 solo tackles, fourth highest among Yard Dawgz defenders and is expected to be a crucial two-way threat.

Former Oklahoma State safety, Jon Holland, returns after an outstanding rookie year. In 2006, Holland racked up 68 solo tackles and was the ADT Defensive Player of the Week three times.

The Yard Dawgz welcome back 15 returning players from last year's playoff team and a host of new faces, including starting QB Stan Hill.
